Imam Hafiz Ghulam MoyhuddinImam Hafiz Ghulam Moyhuddin was born in Pakistan in 1985 and arrived to the UK in 1990 where he settled in Redditch.

In 1996 he performed his first Umra in the sacred house of Allah, and this is where he made a promise to his father that he would travel to Pakistan to memorise the blessed Qur’an. In 1997 he travelled to Pakistan to fulfil his promise and by the Grace of Allah, the Qur’an was imprinted onto his heart within 18 months at the institute where his father had taught for over 13 years – Jamia Hanfiya Sahiwal.  During his stay he remained under the spiritual care of Pir Sayyid Wali Ahmed Shah of Sahiwal and was nurtured in the best possible manner.

After returning back to the UK, he completed his GCSE’s in 2003 and took a gap year to travel to Egypt in pursuit of Islamic knowledge of Arabic language and Qur’anic recitation.

Upon his return to the UK Imam Ghulam began his A-Levels, and completed these in 2005. Meanwhile, under the care of his noble father Mufti Abdul Rasool Mansoor Al-Azhari, he began his traditional Islamic learning whilst remaining in close contact with the luminary scholars of the east and west.

Having completed his studies he returned back to Egypt to study the Qur’anic language and absorb the Islamic knowledge from Al-Azhar Al-Shareef. After completing his studies he entered the auspicious land of Jamia Al-Karam, a place that was to be the basis for quenching his thirst for Islamic knowledge.

He graduated from the sacred land of knowledge in 2009 with the blessed prayers from all his teachers and the honourable Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada.

Imam Ghulam started his journey as a Muslim leader by setting up an Islamic summer camp in his local town to connect the youth back to their religion, whilst he actively built bridges between the local Muslims, the town council and police force. Imam Ghulam began his Imamat in Bristol Jamia Masjid, here he restructured the outdated education system and created a new syllabus and curriculum which modernised the approach to learning into the 21st century.

He was selected by Avon and Somerset Constabulary Police Force to represent the Bristol Masjids on an Awareness of British Culture Course for Imams this lasted 12 days in Leicester. Following this, Imam Ghulam hopes to start his Chaplaincy course this year  to expand his ability to engage with people on different levels.

At present Imam Ghulam is studying at Al-Azhar Shareef in Egypt on scholarship from Cambridge University.  His Diploma would be completed at Cambridge University this summer. In addition to this , he also hopes to study a short course this year at Oxofrd University for leadership skills.

Up until present Imam Ghulam has delivered a series of 10 lectures on Noor TV and has had the honour of interviewing Shaykh Imam Zaid Shakir in 2009. Ghulam has great hopes and aspirations to expand his understanding and knowledge, to fulfil his calling of representing Islam throughout the world.
