Imam Muhammad al-Yazdani Raza al-Misbahi AKSA Member Imam Muhammad al-Yazdani Raza al-Misbahi grew up in Rochdale, United Kingdom, received initial teaching in the classical Islamic Sciences from his father, Shaykh Muhammad Isma’il al-Misbahi. Then continued his studies at Jamia Al-Karam where he studied under Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada and Abu’l-In’am ‘Allama ‘Abd al-Bari. After Jamia Al-Karam, he travelled to India for higher education at the well-known Sunni Institution recognized throughout India, al-Jami’a al-Ashrafiyya in Mubarakpur. After this he returned to the United Kingdom and completed his BA (Hon) in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Manchester between 1994-98. As part of this course he was sent to Egypt to undergo intensive Arabic Studies at the Alexandria University. He has also completed MA (Hon) in Islamic Studies from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, London). Currently he is dedicating his time at the Brent Mosque where he has been promoted as Imam, and where he continues to carry out his duties to illuminate the area with his lectures and Counselling Services. He has served as the second Executive Director of Abu Hanifah Institute from 2000-2001 and is currently a senior advisor to Abu Hanifah Institute. In addition, he is also a lecturer in Islamic Studies and Arabic at the Brondesbury College for boys. He also hosts the weekly IslamiQA programme on the Islam Channel. Back to The Scholars
