Abu Awais Imam Muhammad Zahoor Chishti
AKSA Member

Abu Awais Imam Muhammad Zahoor Chishti was born in Oldham into a pious and practising Muslim family.  He has studied at Jamia Al-Karam, a centre of spiritual and educational excellence, at the hands of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada and Abu’l-In’am ‘Allama ‘Abd al-Bari. Following his graduation from Jamia Al-Karam, he travelled to Pakistan and studied under the guidance of the late Diya’ al-Ummat Justice Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra). He is also a former student of Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, and was awarded a diploma by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Teaching of classical Arabic language and literature.

He has been bestowed khilafa (ijaza) from the Naqshbandi Sufi Order from the current Shaykh Jahanzeb Badshah Qasmi of Mohra, Murrey, Pakistan.

He currently lives and teaches in Oldham as an Imam and minister of religion. He is articulate and fluent in Arabic, English, Punjabi and Urdu, and tirelessly works with the youth of the United Kingdom to enlighten them to the beauty of Islam.
