Imam Tahir Mahmood Kiani AKSA Member Imam Tahir Mahmood Kiani undertook his initial studies under Allamah Abu ’l-In`am Muhammad Abd al-Bari at the local masjid, Jame Masjid Muhammadia Ghausia, Batley, established by his late father al-Haj Muhammad Taj Ali Kiani, (may Allah be pleased with him). He is a graduate of Jamia Al-Karam, where he once again studied under Allamah Abu ’l-In`am Muhammad Abd al-Bari, as well as Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada. He is also a graduate of the renowned International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Pakistan, with B.A./LL.B. (Honours) Shari`ah & Law, where he studied under prominent scholars and intellectuals such as Professor Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Mansoori, Dr. Azhar Jawed and others. Imam Tahir Kiani is well-versed in various fields of Islamic sciences, which includes Arabic Grammar, rhetorics, prose, poetry, syntax, etymology, Íadith, Qur’an, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence), and Mantiq (logic). He teaches Arabic and Islamic Sciences in various centres and masjids, on a long term and short term basis. Being fluent in Arabic, English and Urdu, Imam Kiani has translated numerous Islamic texts. Currently he is General Editor at Beacon Books, which is based at The Crescent Centre, Rochdale, and runs an online Islamic counselling service. In his life, Imam Tahir Kiani has been blessed with the opportunity of helping to revert 14 people to Islam.
