Shaykh Muhammad Hanif Haqqani Kareemi

Shaykh Hanif Haqqani was born in Sheffield on the 13th of April 1968 in to a very pious and practicing family. His father is a simple hard working man who has performed numerous pilgrimages and U’mras. His father worked in the steel industry until 1972 when he set up his own fabrics business. Shaykh Hanif Haqqani’s father was a tailor back in the homeland and provided his services to many great Shaykhs in Kashmir and Pakistan; he took bay'ah with Hazrat-Thaani Sahib Pir Abdur-Rahmaan R. of Eidgah Sharif, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, from where he also has ijazah.

Shaykh Hanif Haqqani completed his secular education in Sheffield and enjoys a good level of speciality in Psychology in specific PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). He attained his Islamic education also in England and some of the UK’s top scholars and shuyukh are amongst his teachers. He finally completed his Islamic education in Lahore, Pakistan, graduating from Jamia Barkaat-ul-Ulooom and Kareemia Sadeedia in 1995. His affiliation with Sufi Masters is very vast covering India, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria and Turkey. He has ijazah and khilaafah from numerous shuyukh but his bay’ah is with Hazrat Shaykh-e-Laa Thaani Pir Habeeb-ur-Rahmaan, grandson of Hazrat Khawaja Abdul Kareem of Eidgah Sharif. His ijazah and khilaafah through which he initiates and provides tarbiy-yah are by Hazrat Pir Muhammad Naqeeb-ur-Rahmaan of Eidgah Sharif, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.and also by Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani (who is his Shaykh-e-Sohbat).

The shaykh has written numerous books on various subjects. One of his books ‘RAGS’ which was published after the Shaykh met with Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi (Anjuman Sarfaroshan-e-Islaam), gives a transliteration of the debate that took place accompanied by the audio recording, extracts from Gohar shahi’s erring books and also Fatwa’s against Gohar Shahi from the U’lama of the ahl-a-Sun-nah. Many followers of the false mahdi repented after reading this book and It was shortly after this meeting that Gohar shahi Died.

Shaykh Hanif Haqqani grants bay’ah in the Muhammadia Naqshbandia way as it is the way of his Shaykh. After directing education for some major British establishments he became the first ever full time Islamic Minister in the history of the British prison service in 2001. He further progressed in introducing and setting up multi-faith initiatives by becoming the first Muslim and non-Christian multi-faith coordinator of the British prison service in 2003. He received the Royal Seal of Approval in 2004 at Buckingham Palace from HRH Princess Anne in the form of the Butlers’ Trust Award for his work in multi-faith and diversity. In 2004 he became the Corporate Assistant Director for Race and Religion, a position which he held up until 2008 a period in which alhamdu lil-laah countless people took the shahaadah on his hand. He is patron and founder of “Hizb ur Rasool (HUR)”, a charity dealing with youth issues and the propagation of Islam in and outside prisons and he is involved in many initiatives nationally addressing issues raised due to past and current global events.
